Reverse Graffiti Project (San Francisco)

10 January 2009 No Comment

sfreversegraffiti1I recently learned about the Reverse Graffiti Project, and wanted to help get the word out.  Artist Paul Curtis has hit the streets with a new concept he calls “clean graffiti.” And if you ask me, he has certainly caught on to something special.

Curtis first discovered he could make art out of irony during a stint working in a kitchen. Upon noticing the contrast between clean and dirty surfaces, he began transforming eyesores into unexpected structures of beauty. Curtis’s work is not only interesting to look at, but it is also part of an eco-friendly movement. Clorox recently teamed up with him to produce this striking mural in San Francisco’s Broadway Tunnel.  If you are ever in the area, check it out!

Grey Street by Dave Mathews Band

Look at how she listens
She says nothing of what she thinks
She just goes stumbling through her memories
Staring out on to grey streets
