Today I discovered Stina Persson. She is an extraordinarily talented illustrator, who encapsulates my own style as an artist, and has managed to assemble a professional portfolio that I find both impressive and inspiring.
Persson has essentially taken the art of watercolor and made it a trademark unto herself. Her work simultaneously conjures the senses of familiarity and surprise, and if you ask me, that is precisely what has made her so successful. The Swedish-born illustrator’s resume includes both corporate and editorial clients, ranging from Godiva Chocolatier, to DKNY, Vogue Nippon, and Sony Music.
Persson’s pieces are all about “finding the right balance between the edgy and the elegant, the raw and the beautiful.” She has very quickly become one of my favorite artists, and I am looking forward to passively (and maybe not so passively) observing where her creative ideas take her in the future.
