Top 5 Twitter Discoveries – Week of May 11th
If this week has shown me anything, it is the power of viral marketing. Whether it happens through in-person conversation or through virtual link exchanges on Twitter, viral marketing is an important tool that can be leveraged for both personal and professional reasons.
I started Aliveasart to help build communities through the creative expression of shared experiences. That is why I care about promoting other artists and design blogs as much as, if not more than, I care about promoting Aliveasart. Starting today, I will feature my favorite Twitter finds on Aliveasart. I am going to make this a weekly practice. So if you don’t see your own tweets or blog posts here today, hold tight, there will be much more to come! I hope you enjoy these discoveries as much as I did. If you do, follow us. It’s a lot of fun!
1. Inlingua
(via @behance)
If you saw our post on experimental typography a few weeks ago, consider this find an addendum. The craftsmanship of this original print campaign has really left me quite awestruck. The image below is just a teaser. Check out the full post at the Behance Network. You won’t leave disappointed!
2. Awkward Family Photos
(via @grainedit)
This find is pretty self explanatory. It is an amusing site that keeps laughs coming daily. I could spend hours just browsing through the AFP archives. Look at these folks! What in the world were they thinking?
3. Quimby the Mouse
(via @Booooooom)
I stumbled upon this great animation shortly after I launched our best animation and stop motion film series. It is a shame that I hadn’t seen it beforehand! I especially appreciate this short film because Quimby the Mouse bears a slight resemblance to my little friend, Bean. The storyline is great, though. And the music by Andrew Bird is an added bonus!
4. Steve Jobs Portrait in Classic Apple Typeface
(via @designyoutrust)
I have seen some crazy things done with typography, but this is just too awesome! Trust me, it takes some serious talent to be able to bust out something like this. Many kudos over to artist Dylan Roscover.
5. 100 (Really) Creative Business Cards
(via @creattica)
This was my favorite discovery this week. The folks at Web Designer Depot did a fantastic job of putting together a collection that was original and endlessly entertaining. I can’t say that many of these business cards score tens on the scale of practicality. But when it comes to making an impression, they seriously top the charts! I loved this article. End of story.
