1. The Everyday Life of Darth Vader - (via @abduzeedo)

Talk about a creative article – check out this piecemeal documentary about a day in the life of Darth Vader. Find out what happens when the Master of the Dark Side tries to lead an ordinary life, just like you and me. I’ve got to be honest, the guy’s got a few kinks in his plan to work out.

2. Typography Animation – (via @designyoutrust)

If you’re a frequent Aliveasart visitor, then you’re probably in the loop about our soft spot for typography. Should you watch this typography animation? Yes. Yes! “Yes is the answer y’all looking for.”

3. Marc Johns Serious Drawings - (via @michaelnobbs)

Marc Johns is one of my favorite new artists – and I’ve got to say that it’s all due to his personality. Johns’ whimsical drawings are filled with dry wit and humor. Whether its a bathroom paper towel montage or a sketch on a old rat trap, he adds a dimension of peculiarity to his artwork that few other artists match.

I use watercolours in ways you shouldn’t. I make my own sketchbooks. If I smoked, I’d roll my own. I’d rather draw than rent a movie. Don’t try to start a conversation with me about recent films. I haven’t seen any. I play the guitar. If I was a hobo, I’d learn to play the ukulele, because you could fit one in your duffle bag. My artwork and the materials I use are quite compact. You could fit my studio in a large suitcase.

For more great pieces like the one you see below, head over to Johns’ blog,  Flickr stream and Vox page.

Are you ready for a ton of fun? Then jump right in to this interactive animation. Maria Claudia Cortes is the brains behind this engaging and entertaining concept. She’s done a great job of exploring color symbolism in communication.
