They say the best things come around when you least expect them to. Well, let me tell you. They’re right – whoever they are. This (cliché) maxim has rung true for me on many life occasions, the most recent of which entailed a run-in with famed sock puppet extraordinaire Marty Allen.
I stumbled upon Allen’s work a few weeks ago, during a casual stroll to a World Cup final viewing party in Union Square. Contrary to most Sunday afternoons, I was neither armed with a 5-pound camera pack bouncing off the …

If you’re wondering where I’ve been the past few days, it’s in Laguna Beach, CA. Thank goodness for frequent flyer miles, that’s what I always say. To those who are more atuned to the virtues of southern California, I’m going to pose this question as diplomatically as I can. Who knew there were so many artists in that small beach town? One of my favorite aspects of the video was the theme of transformation from the inside out. It’s a message that is simple and pallatable. But, oddly, it’s not one we often find so literally translated in art or in music. That’s why I was pleased to discover Alberto Seveso this morning.
Based in Rome, Seveso specializes in photography and digital illustration. His work is highly original, and, interestingly, …
