Let’s face it. The days of Sheep’s Meadow sunbathing are over – it’s already bone chilling cold up here in New York City. So if you’re looking for a warm (and weird) diversion, head over to the Guggenheim for a historic event. From September 18, 2009 to January 13, 2010, the museum is featuring a full-scale retrospective of the Russian visionary artist, Vasily Kandinsky. Abstract art exhibits do tend to be hit or miss, but I implore you to give this one a shot.

Artbrussels: A Modern European Artopia (Brussels)

This April 24th, over 32,000 art professionals and collectors from around the world will arrive in Belgium for the 27th edition of artbrussels. This highly anticipated event, which ranks among the top European contemporary art fairs, showcases 165 galleries that have been nominated through a rigorous, quality-based selection process. This year, international galleries on the roster include Buchmann Galerie (Germany), Galeria Senda (Spain), and Simon Lee Gallery (Britain). If you are going to be in the area, I definitely recommend a visit.

Last month I blogged about Emma Hack, a brilliant body painter based in Australia. After seeing her wallpaper camouflage technique, I became intrigued with the concept, and decided to learn more.
